Thank you for visiting us – we are happy you’re here!
A few things about St. James Lutheran Preschool to help you as you look for a nurturing, play-based, educational program for your Little One:
1. Registration for the upcoming school year begins in the month of January and is ongoing until classes fill up - first-come, first-served.
2. Our Programs include Mommy & Me (birth-23 months), Tiny Tots Separation Class (2 Year Olds) and 3- and 4-year-old classes.
3. We are a half-day program for 2s, 3s, and 4s.
4. We go on Field Trips to a local farm, nature center, and library. For parents and grandparents, we invite you to our Preschool’s Thanksgiving Show and Christmas Pageant.
5. We have an Open Enrollment Policy – if there is an opening during the current school year, your child may join the class at any time (i.e., if you just moved into the area)
6. OPEN HOUSE: Held always on the last Tuesday in January from 12:30-2:30 pm and 5:30-7:30 pm. No need to register for our Open House - just walk in! Feel free to bring your little one to play and explore in the classroom and meet our teachers!
7. PERSONAL TOURS: Always available throughout the year, even during class time! Contact us to schedule a tour (with or without your child)! What you see and how you feel when visiting makes all the difference in selecting a Preschool for your little one!
8. Our Preschool is a community! We offer an ongoing and active Mom’s Group because we know parenting is hard. In our Mom’s group you’ll be surrounded by other moms who understand parenting young children and they will help build up your “village” through all the ups and downs!
Director’s Welcome Message
Dear Prospective and Current Families,
Thank you for considering our preschool as a place for your child’s early learning journey. At our preschool we believe that every child is a unique gift, filled with curiosity and endless potential. Our goal is to provide a nurturing, faith-filled environment where children feel safe, loved and encouraged to grow academically, socially and emotionally.
Our bright, welcoming classrooms and indoor spaces inspire exploration and learning. Our outdoor playground provides ample space and opportunity for running, climbing, swinging and digging in the sand!
Through hands-on learning, meaningful play and daily opportunities to explore, we strive to develop confidence, kindness, independence and a lifelong love of learning. Our dedicated teachers and staff partner with families to create a strong foundation that prepares children not only for Kindergarten but also for a life of compassion, integrity and faith.
Our teachers intentionally plan developmentally appropriate lessons in each of our PROGRAMS to ensure learning is engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. Additionally, academics are embedded into all classroom learning experiences and activities. Our curriculum follows the National Association for the Education of Young Children guidelines.
Our preschool is more than a classroom-it’s a community! We are committed to building relationships with our families, celebrating milestones together and supporting one another as we help our children grow. Communication is open and ongoing throughout the school year. Parents are encouraged to be part of their child’s school life through involvement in classroom events, school-wide “Helping Hands” committees and Parent/Teacher conferences.
I invite you to visit our preschool, meet our teachers and experience the joyful atmosphere that makes our preschool so special. I look forward to welcoming you to our community and sharing in this exciting time of your child’s life!
All the best,
Christie Geary, Preschool Director
